Privacy policy

This policy explains what information ShaadiCardWala (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the ShaadiCardWala mobile app and the website at shaadicardwala.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google. When you sign in with your phone number, we receive the number you verify with a one-time password. When you sign in with email, we receive your email address. If you continue as a guest, we create an anonymous account identifier.

What you create

Your invitation designs and the details you type into them — such as names, dates and venues — and any photos you upload to a card.

Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the order and payment identifiers and whether a payment succeeded, so we can unlock your card. We never receive or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank login.

Sharing activity

When you create a share link, we count how many times it is viewed, shared and downloaded, so we can show you those numbers.

How you use the app

To understand which designs and features people use and where they get stuck, the app records usage events — for example “opened a template”, “started a card”, “downloaded a card” — together with a random identifier created when the app is installed, your device platform and app version. These events do not include the names, dates or venues on your cards, or your contact details.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a device token from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send you updates, such as new templates and offers. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s settings.

Technical information

Our servers record basic technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as IP addresses and request logs.

This website

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.

How we use it

• To provide the app: saving your designs, rendering your cards and letting you share them
• To process payments and unlock the cards you pay for
• To understand how the app is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it
• To send notifications you have allowed
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse
• To respond when you contact us

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the contents of your invitations for advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run ShaadiCardWala, and share only what each needs:

• Google Firebase — sign-in, database, file storage, hosting and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• Razorpay — payment processing

Cards you share are visible to anyone you send them to or who has the share link. We may also disclose information when required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and designs for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your designs, uploaded photos, share links and notification registration. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires, and usage events are kept only after being disconnected from your account.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your account and data yourself at any time from the app (profile icon → Delete account) — see how to delete your account. You can also ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by writing to hello@shaadicardwala.com from the email or phone number linked to your account. We follow applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your projects is restricted to your account. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

ShaadiCardWala is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
